New for the 2024/2025 Tax Year

We've received a number of questions about the expiration of the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act of 2018 (TCJA). It is currently set to expire on December 31, 2025, and before that date, the Act will either be extended, made permanent, replaced with a new Tax Code, or just allowed to expire, depending on what Congress does. Based on available information, it is likely the TCJA will either be replaced with similar legislation or extended. We will know more at the end of 2025.

As always, you can send us COPIES of your information, via US Mail (we strongly recommend Priority Mail), FedEx, UPS, or E-mail. Please do not send ANY original documents through the mail. If you have the ability to scan your documents, call or email us first and we will coordinate with you to use our secure portal.

For those who are unable to come to our office and require someone to pick up your tax documents, this can be done by calling the office and requesting the pickup. You are free to drop off your information. There is a mail slot in the door for after-hours drop off.

We are in a two-story office building, 2/10 mile west of the Grayson Highway/Highway 20 intersection, and 4 miles east of Lawrenceville Highway.

It is recommended that you compare last year's tax return with this year's documents so you won't need to make multiple trips (which may delay any refund you are owed).

  • Be sure to bring all tax reporting documents (W-2s, 1099s, 1098s, K-1s, HSA contributions, gambling winnings/losses, real estate taxes, etc.) when you have your taxes prepared.
  • All 1099 forms (interest, dividends, retirement, Social Security, brokerage statements, unemployment, third party payers, etc.)
  • 1098 forms (mortgage interest, tuition payments, Health Savings Accounts)
  • Charitable contributions - for cash contributions you need receipts for any amount over $250. For non-monetary (items donated to Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.) we will need dated receipts if the total amount is $500 or more. You must assign a value to your contribution(s) - we are not allowed to do it for you.
  • Forms 5498 & 1098-SA (HSAs and FSAs)
  • If you have gambling winnings, be sure to also bring your losses to apply
  • If you bought or sold a residence, bring your HUD-1 forms from closing and Form 1099-S. There may be deductible items on it. If you sold a home, we also must have your original purchase price and a list of all the improvements made/costs while you resided there
  • If you have many stock trades, please get us a copy of the broker's 1099 Composite form as early as possible as we will need extra time to enter each sale on the return as required by the IRS.
  • If you want Direct Deposit of any refund you are eligible for, we will need the name, routing number and account number of the account you wish to use.
